Texts written in different languages that are not translations in the sense of a literal translation from a source language into a target language, but rather multilingual versions of a text that may differ to varying degrees, are the subject of research in many disciplines. Multilingual versions of a text can be found, for example, in authors who write in two or more languages and for whom switching between languages often means adapting the text to the new target audience.

The aim of this project is to develop and implement an e-research technology for comparing non-parallel versions of a text written in different languages, and to test it in exemplary application contexts. As a result of the project, software will be available that identifies the differences/differences between texts that are only partially parallel at the level of sections, sentences, phrases and words, or at the level of elementary discourse units, and makes them accessible for further interactive manual processing.
